Welcome
FDLRS, pronounced fiddlers, is a statewide network of nineteen state and
federally funded associate centers and 4 specialized centers which provide
support services to educators, families of students with exceptionalities
and/or, professionals, and community agencies through-out Florida.

The FDLRS centers are part of the public school system and FDLRS/Island Coast
is part of the Lee County School District.

four main work scope functions :
Child Find-
Provides assistance in identifying children, birth through 5
years of age who have or are at risk of developing special or unique needs.
Human Resources Development-
Collaboratively plans and provides
information, training, technical assistance and consultation, and resources about effective instructional strategies for the
education of children who are exceptional and/or have special or unique needs
based on locally assessed needs and established priorities.
Parent Service- Assists school districts
and families who have children who are exceptional and/or have special or unique
needs to develop effective partnerships that allow for shared responsibilities to
provide and improve the education of the child.
Technology-Provides assistance and support
in the appropriate use of assistive, instructional, and communications
technologies for professional staff, families and children who are exceptional
and/or have special or unique needs.
