Article 10.06 (Changes in Compensation)

1. Is there a change in compensation as a result of the Board approval of the FY24 Administrator Salary Schedule?

Yes, eligible employees will receive an increase in compensation effective July 1, 2023.

2. What changes in compensation are available as part of the FY24 Administrator Salary Schedule?

Percent Increase

Eligible employees will receive an increase in base compensation of eight (8) percent.

3. What was my base salary prior to the FY24 Administrator Salary Schedule?

Your base pay rate prior to the update is listed on your prior paycheck stubs that can be accessed in PeopleSoft. The navigation path to the PeopleSoft Employee Compensation page is: Employee Self Service > Payroll and Compensation > My Paycheck.

4. Are pay increases retroactive?

Yes, all eligible employees will receive an increase in base salary of 8.0% effective July 1, 2023.

5. When will I see an increase in my base salary on my paycheck?

The Administrator Salary Schedule increase will be included on the December 15, 2023 paycheck.

6. What is the Market Rate Salary Schedule?

The Market Rate Salary Schedule does not have Grades and Steps. The rates for the positions on this salary schedule are based off of Market Rate for individual positions. The District is committed to reviewing the rates for these positions annually to ensure competitive pay for these positions. The District uses software from the Economic Research Institute (ERI), which utilizes data from the US Department of Labor (USDOL) to determine market rates based upon geographic location, industry and organization size. The District also uses data from other school districts, as reported to the Florida Department of Education (FL DOE).

Article 10.04 (Non-Standard Rate of Pay)

7. What happens if I am temporarily reassigned?

Employees will be paid according to the appropriate Temporary Reassignment Matrix for temporary reassignment of duties in accordance with Article 5.05(2). Temporary reassignment to address a vacant position will be limited to a duration of no more than six (6) months without written approval of the Superintendent. Temporary reassignment due to employee absence or extended leave will be reported to the Board, if it extends beyond one (1) year.

Article 10.02 (Salary Schedules)

8. Are there any supplements for employees assigned to a Turnaround School?

A supplement of $10,000.00 is available for all administrators assigned to Fort Myers Middle Academy, Franklin Park Elementary, Tice Elementary, East Lee County High, Colonial Elementary, Edgewood Academy, G. Weaver Hipps Elementary, Manatee Elementary and Island Coast High for FY24 (2023-2024 school year). Payment will be spread evenly through the course of the fiscal year. Assignment at a Turnaround School is considered meeting a critical need.

9. Are there any supplements for employees assigned to a Transition School?

A supplement of $5,000.00 is available for all administrators assigned to Ray V. Pottorf Elementary, James Stephens Elementary, Mirror Lakes Elementary, Orange River Elementary, and Sunshine Elementary for FY24 (2023-2024 school year). Payment will be spread evenly through the course of the fiscal year. Assignment at a Transition School is considered meeting a critical need.

10. What happens to my supplements if I am appointed by the Superintendent to serve as an Administrator on Assignment?

School-based administrators appointed by the Superintendent to serve as an Administrator on Assignment shall be eligible to maintain their student enrollment supplement and school level supplement for one (1) year.

Article 5.06 (Employment Opportunities)

11. What is the process for filling vacancies?

A list of career opportunities shall be posted on the District website for a minimum of five (5) consecutive work days prior to filling a vacant position.

If a vacant position exists, the applicant whose qualifications, seniority, work experience, and interview responses are superior shall be offered the position.

Current employees of the District who apply for a vacant position shall be given first consideration prior to external applicants.

Vacant positions for summer school and summer programs will be posted and filled in accordance with Article 5.06 and the Summer School Handbook.

The District will follow the Leadership Talent Acquisition and Development (LTAD) Manual for employment opportunities for school-based administrator positions.
