Dunbar High School Students Win Microsoft State Championships

The School District of Lee County is proud to announce Dunbar High School’s legacy of Microsoft champions continues with three more students earning state championships. Candace (Harley) Papol in Microsoft Word 365, Damon Rangel in Microsoft PowerPoint 365, and Jonathan Lara in Microsoft Excel 365.

The latest triumph of our three Microsoft Office Specialist Florida State Champions exemplifies our unwavering dedication to fostering brilliance and shaping a brighter future for those who choose Dunbar High School."

Candace, Damon and Jonathon recorded perfect scores on their respective Microsoft exams, qualifying them to compete at the 2024 Microsoft Office Specialist U.S. National Championship in Orlando from June 17th to 19th. The first-place winners in each category (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) at the U.S. National Championship will be awarded a $3,000 scholarship, along with a trophy, certificate, and an all-expenses-paid invitation to compete for top honors at the 2024 Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship in in Anaheim, California.

Dunbar High School has now produced 35 Certiport® Microsoft Office Specialist Florida State Champions since its inaugural participation in 2011. Notably, Dunbar also has the rare distinction of producing three Microsoft World Champions and seven Microsoft National Champions, as well.
